You take the good with bad. Not everyone made it out before the show for drinks - or maybe else chose not to reveal?? Well, whatever - MintyFresh met his match in more than one way!! more on that later.

PopTart was somewhere over the ocean when the set was supposed to hit. wonder if she got that iPod fixed - embarrassing to be the world reknowned iPod dj when your tunes start to skip around. too much 'scratching' on the wheel maybe?? that's so 90's anyway.

i had a little more to drink before the show than i should have but there was little i could do to stop that from happening. well, everyone found out that HatHead is MintyFresh. TheSandMan is as funny in person as online and quick to pick up the round. HttPee seemed only capable of talking about things we had already said online - 'remember when brutella88 flamed emrald_speaks last week. emrald_speaks was so owned' and on and on - actually says "well, LMAO!". shut up. more importantly, there is clear evidence that girls are actually using the internet now. maxxxine is certainly easy on the eyes and then there is rosemaryintime. ah, rosemaryintime.

some great eye contact from rosemaryintime and i was certainly digging the way she was crowding my space. yes indeed. i was able to lead the conversation around to later that night and asked her if she wanted to get another drink after the show. she said she was in and tossed me a little wink. alright!

Great show - did a little longer set than usual and slipped into some cool grooves. After the show, rosemaryintime & i met up again. we tried to get into that new place on uni but were unable to break through the barracade of attitude at the door and so ended up at my local just a few blocks away from my place. ultra convenient and excellent timing as my cleaning lady had just cleaned my place that day! legs connecting under the table for a little bit so I asked her if she wanted to come back to my place and I would put a log in the fireplace. and that's exactly what happened. =)

oh yeah, and the freaking workmen are digging closer and closer to the house and waking me up again!!! this is driving me crazy!! on my way out of the house to get some brunch, i approached the workmen to ask them when they were supposed to be finished. they were speaking some other language and left the yard when I approached, leaving one man remaining. the bossman?? anyway i asked him when they were going to be done and he asked me if I lived here, how many units there were, which one was mine? huh?? that pissed me off a bit since they were waking me up after all! and i said was gonna call my muni counciller because they were destroying the lawn - they just can't do that can they??

Got a note from megatron - he actually got the job as head of global marketing!! this world is truly an absurd place. No email back from mela yet and no sign of her online either :( ah well, there is rosemaryintime for the moment!

WTF the street workers woke me up again this morning promptly @ 7:30!?! these guys have been digging up and down the street for months now...even through the winter. they have dug the same hole in front of my house at least three times now. and they do a crappy job of patching up the work - it looks like a bomb went off or something!! there are holes everywhere. the street is a mess and took a pounding from the winter with big potholes everywhere too!

Still no word from the real estate agent and its been over three weeks...maybe it's not meant to be?? it looks like a great space tho...time will tell. Also no word back from megatron - i hope that happens too - totally awesome!

speaking of awesome, i got an MSN watch today!! i've never had a watch that lasted more than a week without stopping - seems i'm allergic to time :) but we'll see! it's hard to really find anything useful yet about it other than the dick tracy appeal but i've signed up for some useless alerts to amuse myself!

meeting up before the show next week with some online friends - cool to finally put some faces to some aliases. speaking of that, haven't seen mela online for a while...have to remember to send her an email! wanna check out that new place that just opened on uni too - looks uber cool. now to sup on some new media...

SEASON ONE RULES

After much deliberation and with executive precision, here are the rules for Season One!

1) You Create Your Own Character

You create your own character. You come up with a background, moods, histories, likes, loves and losses. Blogger will tag everything with your Blogger profile. If you are already a Blogger user and don't want to use your current profile, go ahead and open another Blogger account just for use with your character.

2) All Plot Happens Within This Blog.

All plot development happens in the main posts. You can introduce new events into the plot or offer your perspective on/add more information to events that are reported to have happened. You can respond to comments on your own posts but please refrain from commenting on others' posts - this is to avoid developing/furthering a plotline and having it buried away somewhere. No plot development on other sites either for that matter. You can link to other posts within the blog, so, just to help keep the perspective moving along, you can only link back to other character's posts.

3) Post Once On Your Day Only

Just post your final version. Please avoid posting and editing later so that earlier readers don't miss anything from the storyline. One post only for your day. If you miss your day, you miss your chance that week, leave yourself vulnerable to the other cast members and have disappointed the entire internet.

4) Leaving Proxyville

If a person wants leave the Proxyville, we get to kill them off! maybe having something cool like a little flash movie when someone gets killed off, or an acted out mp3 phone call, or something like that as it would be a big turning point and also the introduction of a new character.

If you want to leave, please either make you intentions known to one of the other characters so they can kill you or let the site admin know you want to leave. Also, if you do not post for a month, expect the worst! mu ha ha ha!!!

5) Season One Ends

Season One ends when it is over. This may be decided by The Hand.

6) No Mispresenting Other Characters

It's a no-no to use the evil power of the Internet to mispresent any of the other cast members. This includes things like editing others' posts, posting images or mispresenting others through aliases - tsk tsk! You will feel The Hand.

7) Be Wary Of The Hand

The Hand will enforce these rules. The Hand is arbitrary and has the final say on All Matters. Do not question The Hand.

What Is Proxyville?

* Proxyville is a creative writing experiment where the ongoing story is created day-to-day.

* The authors are also each a character in the story and the story is told through the blog entries of the characters.

* The characters/authors use elements of the existing storyline to further the plot along.

About This Blog.

OK - back from brunch. some food and a couple pints and everything is much clearer now!

Had this idea and bounced it off of Chan Thai Long who happened to be online. Thai Long thought it was a good idea and so I set it up. And here we are. What is "it"?

What is this Blog?
This blog is a soap opera. There are to be seven characters in this blog, each of whom post on a different day of the week. Characters can present their own interpretations of events that have been reported to have happened and also introduce new events into the plot through their own posts. The story is continuous and built upon the plot created by all of the characters as they post each week.

Things To Do
* finish casting
* determine any guidelines for content/posting
* fix the template so that it says "cast" or "starring" instead of 'contributors '; get rid of that extra line in the sidebar too.
* start the 1st season!

Some initial thoughts:
- all plot happens inside this blog
- characters can only edit their latest post on their day = characters cannot retroactively change the plot by editing their old posts. no editing would the best so all readers read the same thing.
- characters can only link back to other character's posts, never their own.
- characters can't/shouldn't post comments on posts other than their own to keep the plot in the main posts.
- if a person wants leave the blog, we get to kill them off! maybe having something cool like a little flash movie when someone gets killed off, or an acted out mp3 phone call, or something like that as it would be a big turning point and also the introduction of a new character.
